TERMO Programme

Funds Polish entities to modernise buildings for efficiency and integrate renewable systems.

Bank Gospodarstwa KrajowegoPolandGrant

TERMO is Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego's umbrella programme for energy efficiency upgrades in Polish buildings. It combines direct grants with bonus mechanisms tied to loans, and it serves housing communities, social housing associations, local government, private persons, and micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises. The programme groups several products: a thermo-modernisation bonus, refurbishment bonus, MHS bonus for multi-family housing, an RES grant, and a compensation bonus. Funding comes from the state budget for bonuses, from EU structural funds or the Polish Development Fund for grant streams, and from KPO/RRF support under NextGenerationEU. The legal basis is the Act of 21 November 2008 on supporting thermo-modernisation and renovation. The English-language material does not publish award caps or a formal timetable, so the practical unit of support depends on the chosen product and project structure. TERMO is strongest for building owners that can show a clear energy-saving case and a renovation plan aligned with the selected product. Applicants should be ready to work through Polish-language documentation, bank-linked steps where bonuses are used, and the distinction between non-repayable grants and loan-repayment subsidies. The programme is broad on eligible applicants but narrow in purpose: building efficiency, renovation, and renewable energy integration.
