QDB Istithmar — Equity Investment

QDB Istithmar is the bank's direct equity investment arm, taking minority stakes (up to 50%) in innovative Qatari SMEs. Ticket sizes range from QAR 1.5–7M for small innovative enterprises to QAR 3.5–18M for growing medium enterprises. The investment horizon is 8–10 years (5-year deployment + 3–5 year holding period). QDB takes board representation and veto rights but does not seek majority control. Eligibility requires Qatari ownership, active Qatari management, 2–3+ years of operations, fewer than 250 employees, turnover below QAR 100M, and assets below QAR 50M. Construction, contracting, and trading sectors are excluded.
