The Competence Centre Programme (Kompetenscentrumprogrammet) is run by the Swedish Energy Agency (Energimyndigheten) to support the shift to a sustainable energy system by creating and maintaining internationally leading research centres in the energy field. A competence centre is a long-lived research environment — typically funded in five-year stages — that pools people and money from universities, research institutes, companies, and public-sector partners. Universities lead; companies join as named partners. Individual calls set their own budgets and deadlines — see the grants listed below.
