Early Academic Career (Tidig Akademisk Karriär)

Funds early-career research for postdocs collaborating with industry partners in Sweden.

Tidig Akademisk Karriär (Early Academic Career) is KK-stiftelsen's early-career research route for recently postdoctoral researchers at eligible Swedish institutions. It replaced Prospekt in 2025 and keeps the same industry-linked model, but with a narrower applicant profile. Awards go up to 2.5 million SEK over 2 to 3 years. Each project needs at least two independent industry co-funders matching the foundation contribution, and the principal investigator must not have been academically active more than three years before the deadline, with career breaks deductible. The 2026 call opens on September 10 and closes on November 25. The best fit is a project where a new PI can credibly lead a focused collaboration with industry partners already willing to share the financial load. Reviewers will look for a clean research question, a realistic work plan, and evidence that the company side is more than symbolic. The route suits researchers who are ready to turn postdoctoral momentum into a structured industry-facing project.
