Regional Transport Aid (Regionalt transportbidrag)

Funds Regional Transport Aid Regionalt transportbidrag, freight-cost subsidy for manufacturers in Sweden's four northernmost provinces.

Regional Transport Aid compensates manufacturers in North Sweden for cost disadvantages arising from long transport distances. It applies to companies shipping goods by rail, road, or sea over distances exceeding 401 km — both outbound (finished/semi-finished goods requiring significant regional processing) and inbound (raw materials for processing in textiles, pharmaceuticals, rubber, plastics, glass, and manufacturing sectors). The four eligible provinces are Norrbotten, Västerbotten, Jämtland, and Västernorrland. Applications are submitted twice yearly, within three months after each calendar half ends (i.e. by end of March for the first half and by end of September for the second half).
