Industry Alignment Fund — Pre-Positioning Programme

Supports Singapore public institutions building industry-ready capabilities in healthcare and advanced manufacturing.

The Industry Alignment Fund – Pre-Positioning Programme sits under Singapore's Agency for Science, Technology and Research and funds integrated multidisciplinary research at public research institutions. It is designed to build industry-ready capabilities in the Human Health and Potential and Manufacturing, Trade and Connectivity domains, and it remains between RIE cycles after the RIE2025 window closed. The program is a grant route for Singapore public research institutions, not companies or individual researchers. Award amounts are not published on the public page, but projects can run up to 60 months, with the standard recommendation capped at 36 months. Programme Directors must hold at least a 0.7 FTE primary appointment in Singapore, and the application package requires institutional and industry documentation rather than a simple online submission. The strongest fit is a public research team that can align multiple disciplines around an industry-facing research platform and keep delivery disciplined over several years. A-STAR's Strategic Oversight Committee and the published templates point to a governed, programmatic model rather than a one-off call. Applicants that can show a clear industry link, institutional backing, and a credible execution plan are best placed.
