Singapore RIE2030 Research Innovation Enterprise
Invests research teams and universities in Singapore that are turning innovation ideas into reliable market-ready products.
Singapore's RIE2030 strategy is the National Research Foundation's five-year research, innovation, and enterprise plan for 2026 to 2030, with NRF operating inside the Prime Minister's Office. The plan carries a record S$37 billion budget, centers two flagships and two grand challenges, and is built to strengthen Singapore's competitiveness while widening social and economic impact. The grant envelope runs from S$250,000 to S$200 million, with a median actual award of S$5 million, annual cadence, Singapore-based eligibility, and a 30 percent match. It spans TRL 2 to 9 and backs deep-tech projects in the strategic areas attached to RIE2030, including a strong emphasis on AI, data, and compute. The strongest proposals connect to the national pillars and show how they will use Singapore's translational ecosystem rather than operate as isolated lab projects. NRF's platforms such as DxD Hub, EDDC, NAMIC, and CREATE point to the kind of work that fits: productization, therapeutics, manufacturing scale-up, and interdisciplinary research with public institutions.
