BOI Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) Promotion

BOI Eastern Economic Corridor Promotion is an add-on to Thailand's general investment promotion regime, not a standalone scheme. It applies to projects located in Rayong, Chonburi, or Chachoengsao and can add up to two extra years of corporate income tax exemption on top of the base activity-group benefit. The measure is rolling, available only to for-profit companies operating in Thailand, and it uses the same promotion-certificate framework as the underlying BOI program. There is no cash award; the value is the extra tax holiday layered onto an approved project. The geography is precise and sub-national, with the benefit limited to the three EEC provinces. The best fit is a project that already qualifies for BOI promotion and is locating or expanding inside the EEC footprint. Because the measure builds on the underlying activity group, applicants need a strong base promotion case before the location add-on matters. In practice, the EEC layer is most useful when the project is industrially strategic and the province choice is part of the investment thesis.
