The ITRI Industry-Academia Innovation Alliance is ITRI's joint-research channel for Taiwanese universities, research institutes, enterprises, and other institutional partners. It sits alongside ITRI's open-lab, licensing, and contract-research services, and it broadens the institute's role from technology developer to collaboration broker. The route is rolling and consortium-based, with no fixed award size in the structured record. It is limited to Taiwan-registered and Taiwan-operating participants, and it points applicants toward ITRI's 2035 domains: smart living, quality health, sustainable environment, resilient society, and the enabling stack of AI, semiconductors, communications, and smart sensing. This is the right route when the project depends on shared IP, cross-institution research, and a defined role for both academic and industrial partners. Proposals read best when the team can show a concrete research task, a plausible path to transfer or deployment, and a division of work that makes the alliance more than a loose letter of intent alone.
