ITRI Open Lab Collaboration
Offers ITRI Open Lab Collaboration for joint development and pilot production partnerships across semiconductors, software, and energy.
ITRI Open Lab Collaboration is the main industry collaboration route of the Industrial Technology Research Institute in Taiwan. ITRI was founded in 1973 and has used its applied research work to drive industrial development, support technology transfer, and incubate new ventures. The programme is a rolling collaboration channel rather than a one-off competition. The route has no published award cap and is handled case by case. Typical engagements include contract research, small-scale pilot production, process improvement, calibration and measuring, technology transfers, and IP value-added services. It is especially relevant to emerging high-tech firms and SMEs working across semiconductors, ICT, biomedical, materials, and energy. Applicants do best when they arrive with a concrete technical problem and a realistic collaboration model. The appeal of the route is ITRI's open-lab infrastructure and cross-disciplinary research base, which let companies build on an established applied-R&D platform instead of standing up a full internal lab from scratch.
