NSTC Outstanding Researcher Award

Supports established Taiwanese researchers with added salary and research resources alongside existing project funding.

NSTC Outstanding Researcher Award is NSTC's senior-faculty recognition line for principal investigators at Taiwanese universities and research organisations. It supplements an active NSTC Research Project Grant with multi-year salary and research support, and it sits in the Awards stream alongside the Yushan/Chair Professorship and Outstanding Mentor Award. It is the successor line to the older NSC and MOST naming used for the same kind of recognition. The award follows an annual cycle and is framed as career recognition rather than a standalone project grant. The eligible base remains the Taiwanese academic research system: universities and research organisations, with for-profit applicants disallowed and individual applicants not treated as independent recipients. The support is meant to layer onto work already under way, rather than replace an investigator's main project funding. Applicants are strongest when their research record is already substantial and can support a case for sustained scholarly contribution. The award is designed to reinforce established investigators, not early-stage teams, so the fit is best where the applicant already holds an NSTC project and can use the recognition to extend research momentum, salary support, and institutional visibility over several years.

Each grant below is a distinct funding opportunity with its own eligibility, scope, and deliverables.
