Young Person's Start Up Grant
Runs Young Person's Start Up Grant to support start-up grant under wales launching first business.
The Young Person's Start Up Grant is delivered through Big Ideas Wales, the Welsh Government's entrepreneurship programme for under-25s. It provides up to £2,000 per business to help young people in Wales launch their first venture — one application only per person. Applicants must be under 25, living in or returning to Wales, and must be either unemployed/NEET, working part-time under 18 hours, or in education planning self-employment within 3 months. Grants cannot be awarded after trading has started. The process requires completing minimum 6 hours of pre-start business support and working with a Big Ideas Wales adviser before submitting. Current programme cycle runs to 31 March 2027 or until funds exhaust.
