The Biology to Prevention Award supports projects that harness biological and mechanistic insights to provide new targets and approaches for primary cancer prevention. It funds flexible amounts of approximately £100k–£600k over up to 5 years, and is notable for explicitly welcoming early-career researchers as lead or joint lead applicants (with at least one established researcher as co-applicant for mentorship). All career stages are eligible. International and commercial co-investigators are allowed. The scheme is closed: applicants must contact pprc@cancer.org.uk first; reviewed twice per year with an upcoming deadline of 18 June 2026. Sibling schemes: Prevention and Population Programme Award (up to £2.5m/5 yrs) and Prevention and Population Project Award (up to £500k/3 yrs).
