Senior Cancer Research Fellowship

The Senior Cancer Research Fellowship supports established group leaders to further develop their research programme and build their reputation as world leaders in cancer research, providing typically up to £1.75m over 6 years (or part-time equivalent). Applicants must be scientists (PhD or MD with extensive post-doctoral experience) based at a UK institution with space and facilities to run an independent research group — clinicians are no longer eligible for new outline applications after the May 2026 committee review (use Clinical Future Leaders Fellowship instead). The scheme is closed: an eligibility enquiry form and CV submission must precede the outline application. Reviewed twice per year; next full deadline 10 September 2026.
