Offers Therapeutic Catalyst, support for academic researchers validating and de-risking novel cancer therapeutic targets in collaboration.
The Therapeutic Catalyst accelerates translation of laboratory discoveries into novel cancer therapeutics. Open globally to academic researchers at any university or research institute worldwide, it provides up to £250k over 18 months to validate/de-risk novel targets and pathways — distinct from basic biology or clinical-stage work. Projects run collaboratively between the applicant's lab and Cancer Research Horizons' Therapeutic Innovation team. The scheme is reviewed three times per year (Feb, Jun, Oct cycle), with 2026 deadlines of 29 May and 25 September 2026. Expression of interest via Flexi-Grant; internal committee triages before full proposal development with a Therapeutic Innovation scientist.
