DSIT Fellowship

Supports the secondment of science and technology experts into United Kingdom policy teams for part-time public service impact.

The DSIT Fellowship is an annual secondment programme placing 25 mid-to-late-career science and technology experts into DSIT policy teams for 12 months on a part-time basis (2–3 days per week). Fellows are reimbursed to their employer — it operates as a zero-cost secondment for organisations. Cohort 4 covers autumn 2026 start; applications closed 6 May 2026; interviews run mid-May to mid-June 2026. Cohort 5 (2027/2028) expected to launch approximately February 2027. Thematic placement areas for Cohort 4: Science Ecosystem, Artificial Intelligence, Data, Economics, International, and Horizon Scanning.
