Video Games Expenditure Credit (VGEC) replaces the old Video Games Tax Relief (VGTR) from 1 April 2025 for new qualifying video game productions. The rate is 34% above-the-line expenditure credit on qualifying UK core expenditure. Minimum UK expenditure threshold of 10% of total; minimum £1M UK core spend for eligibility. BFI Cultural Test required. Same transition timeline as AVEC: mandatory from 1 April 2025, old VGTR closed to new productions from 1 April 2025, old VGTR claims sunset 31 March 2027. Claim on Corporation Tax return. The architectural shift from old VGTR (tax relief / surrenderable-loss mechanic) to VGEC (above-the-line credit, taxable income) mirrors the AVEC reform — more visible in P&L accounts.

Each grant below is a distinct funding opportunity with its own eligibility, scope, and deliverables.
