The National Materials Innovation Programme (NMIP) is an Innovate UK programme under the UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) umbrella, launched as part of the Advanced Manufacturing Sector Plan in the UK's Modern Industrial Strategy. It aims to speed the translation of advanced materials innovations into eight growth-driving sectors. The programme runs multiple funding competitions — including feasibility studies — to support businesses and research organisations across prioritised materials themes. It focuses on areas such as power electronics, biocompatible and bioelectronic materials, structural systems, and metamaterials.
