Defence Technology Exploitation Programme (DTEP)
Supports the Defence Technology Exploitation Programme, funding supplier-prime partnerships that turn promising dual-use technologies into defence applications.
DTEP is a £16M programme that provides up to 50% grant funding for collaborations between UK lower-tier SME suppliers and higher-tier prime contractors, focused on integrating novel technologies into UK defence supply chains. Maximum total project value is £1M; maximum grant per project is £500K. The programme was paused for new applications from April 2024 onwards. UKDI lists DTEP under its pipeline with 'Expected Launch: TBC'. Legacy contracts from previous funding rounds are still being delivered (e.g. Filtronic semiconductor packaging, March 2026).
