MRC Centres of Research Excellence (CoREs) are large-scale, multi-year research centre grants for bold, ambitious research focused on a defined challenge addressing complex health issues. Awards run up to 14 years (initially 7, with renewal review). Minimum MRC contribution: £26.25M; maximum MRC contribution: £21M; total fund Round 4: £50M. Co-funded with Ministry of Defence in Round 4.
