i4i THRIVE
Offers research teams and universities in United Kingdom by guiding innovation from prototype work to stronger buyer demand.
i4i THRIVE sits under NIHR's Invention for Innovation programme in the United Kingdom, administered by LGC Ltd as NIHR Coordinating Centre. It supports early-stage health technologies that tackle health inequalities and move NHS-led ideas toward entrepreneurship, with the current cycle built around academic and clinical entrepreneurs working on technology-based products or services. The award is a grant of £150,000 per awardee over 9 months at 100% FTE. Applicants are NHS researchers and clinicians, while universities and research organisations are also eligible in the wider call structure. The programme sits at TRL 3+ and uses an outline plus video submission route. THRIVE combines funding with entrepreneurial training, mentoring, peer support and networking, so the support package is broader than cash alone. Its annual March/April cadence makes it a repeat option for teams with a prototype and a credible route into NHS use, especially where the innovation has a clear connection to health inequalities.
Each grant below is a distinct funding opportunity with its own eligibility, scope, and deliverables.
