Young EDGE
Provides innovative organizations in United Kingdom to connect innovation teams to commercialization pathways and real buyers.
Young EDGE is Scottish EDGE's youth track, aimed at companies where every director is aged 18 to 30, excluding non-executive directors and investors. It sits inside the wider Scottish EDGE competition and gives younger founders a separate path into the same ecosystem. The award is grant-only and reaches £15,000. The route is annual, and applicants use the same deadline and assessment frame as the main competition: a five-year-old-or-younger company, headquartered and operating in the UK with turnover of £1 million or less, submitting through the online portal with a three-minute video pitch. The top winner also earns a place in a future Scottish EDGE semi-final, so the prize can lead into the main stream. It works best for young teams that already have a coherent commercial plan, a clear value proposition, and enough traction to stand up in the broader Scottish EDGE scoring process. Because the age test applies to all directors, it is a precise route rather than a general youth-friendly label. For founders who qualify, it combines modest grant capital with a credible route into larger competition funding.
Each grant below is a distinct funding opportunity with its own eligibility, scope, and deliverables.
