The Commercial Proof of Concept Fund provides up to £75,000 in internal translational funding to UCL researchers whose IP or technologies show commercial promise. Projects typically run 6–9 months and are designed to bridge the gap between a research output and a commercially attractive licensing or spinout opportunity. Access is gated entirely through a UCL Business Manager sponsor — there is no public RFP calendar or open submission window. The fund operates on a continuous rolling basis, with decisions made by UCLB's internal investment committee.
