Applicants apply directly to one of the twelve host programmes, not to Wellcome itself, and each recruits once a year on its own cycle. A funded PhD runs three years full-time equivalent, covering a clinical salary, home-rate UK registration fees, college fees, research expenses, essential travel and training costs, though not institutional overheads, and co-applicants are not accepted.
