AFRL/AFOSR Center of Excellence (CoE)
Helps AFRL and AFOSR Center of Excellence for high-priority collaborative basic research.
The AFRL/AFOSR Center of Excellence program is a joint AFOSR and AFRL Technology Directorate mechanism with a university-led research consortium format to support high-priority collaborative basic research and strengthen Air Force technical depth in priority domains. AFRL Technology Directorates set proposed research topics, which are then posted as Funding Opportunity Announcements on Grants.gov. A joint AFOSR–AFRL technology directorate panel performs competitive selection of the winning university team. Awards are grant-based and structured as three-year periods with a two-year extension option. The strongest candidates are cross-institution academic teams with a direct fit to AFRL priority areas, an operational plan for high-priority military-relevant research, and the ability to respond to annual solicitation cycles.
Each grant below is a distinct funding opportunity with its own eligibility, scope, and deliverables.
