Air Force Office of Scientific ResearchUnited StatesGrant

AFOSR HBCU/MI Program is AFOSR’s dedicated track for Historically Black Colleges and Universities and Minority-Serving Institutions, with dual pathways that support direct research funding and infrastructure capability development. The AFOSR Core Research track is reviewed by AFOSR program officers and funded from a director’s set-aside, while the DoD Infrastructure for HBCU/MI track is implemented with the Army Research Office. BAAs for the infrastructure path are typically published in the fall through ARO channels. This program is tailored to U.S.-based HBCUs and MSIs. It is most appropriate for institutions aligned to Air Force research priorities that can coordinate institutional capacity planning with the annual call rhythm and the program’s two-track structure.
