DOE Technology Commercialization Voucher Program (TCF Vouchers)
Provides in-kind support for clean energy commercialization through laboratory access and expertise.
The DOE Technology Commercialization Voucher Program sits under the Office of Technology Commercialization and provides in-kind support for clean energy commercialization. It is delivered through ENERGYWERX, so applicants work through a partner intermediary rather than directly through DOE OTC. Each voucher is worth up to $250,000 and opens access to National Laboratory capabilities, testing facilities, and subject-matter experts across 174 capabilities. The program is available in the United States to for-profit firms, nonprofits, universities, and research organizations, but not individuals. The record notes that more than 170 organizations have been supported, and that the most recent active window was in October 2024. The program is best suited to teams that need testing, validation, siting, permitting, carbon-management, or manufacturing-conversion help more than cash. It works well for organizations that already know what they need from a lab partner and can use the voucher to shorten the path from concept to commercialization.
