Iowa Innovation Acceleration Fund
Invests Royalty and loan investments in three tiers for Iowa tech companies scaling from launch to expansion.
The Iowa Innovation Acceleration Fund sits under the Iowa Economic Development Authority and supports technology companies that are moving from early traction into scale. It is aimed at Iowa businesses in advanced manufacturing, bioscience, or information technology, and it is built to support commercialization rather than basic research. The fund uses royalty arrangements or secured loans across three stages: Launch up to $250,000, Propel up to $500,000, and Innovation Expansion up to $1 million. Each tier requires a 1:1 private match. The record also indicates pilot evidence, established customers, and demonstrated revenue, which puts this route well beyond the idea stage. Applications are reviewed continuously, with bi-monthly decisions handled by VentureNet Iowa on IEDA’s behalf. The top tier is a secured loan, not a grant. This is a strong fit for companies that can already point to market use, customer demand, and a working business model. The program favors founders who can show that state capital will accelerate expansion rather than simply de-risk an experiment. The most credible applications will be concrete about traction, financing, and the next stage of commercial growth.
Each grant below is a distinct funding opportunity with its own eligibility, scope, and deliverables.
