GrowKS Equity Program

Invests SSBCI-funded equity investments matching private capital for Kansas startups.

GrowKS Equity Program is a Kansas Department of Commerce and NetWork Kansas equity initiative funded through the U.S. Department of the Treasury's State Small Business Credit Initiative. Kansas received roughly $69 million in SSBCI 2.0 funding, and GrowKS Equity can match private capital with investments of up to $1 million per business. The program is co-administered by the Kansas Department of Commerce and NetWork Kansas, and applicants must connect through a NetWork Kansas-approved resource partner before accessing funding. The route matches private capital from a financial institution such as a bank or CDFI, and it highlights priority for underserved geographies and underserved populations, including minority-owned, women-led, and economically disadvantaged businesses. GrowKS Equity is built for companies that already have outside capital in motion and need a public co-investment partner to scale the round. It is a better fit for founders who can work through a partner network and pair state capital with private money than for applicants looking for a simple standalone grant.
