LPS Qubit Collaboratory (LQC)
Supports LPS Qubit Collaboratory to back fundamental quantum computing and sensing teams through incubator, collaboratory, and fellowship tracks.
LPS Qubit Collaboratory (LQC) is the Army's route for fundamental qubit research at the intersection of quantum computing and quantum sensing. The program is posted under Army Materiel Command but is operationally run by DEVCOM Army Research Office in partnership with the Laboratory for Physical Sciences, an NSA-funded research center hosted at the University of Maryland. The award uses a cooperative-agreement style instrument and is open to for-profits, nonprofits, universities, research organizations, and individuals in the United States. The posted due date is 30 April 2027, and the listing does not publish a floor or ceiling. The program is organized around three tracks: Incubator for single PIs or small groups, Collaboratory for multi-institution teams, and QuaCR Research Fellowships for U.S.-citizen graduate students and postdocs. The best fit is a team doing basic research rather than product development. ARO describes itself as the Army's extramural basic research arm, founded in 1951, with ties to more than 7,000 researchers at about 300 institutions across 46 states, territories, and 30 countries. This opportunity sits inside that broader research network and rewards proposals that stay tightly focused on qubit development.
