MassNextGen
Provides lab space, coaching, and grants for underrepresented life science entrepreneurs in Massachusetts.
MassNextGen sits under the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center and supports underrepresented life sciences entrepreneurs in Massachusetts. It is a year-long package that combines non-dilutive grant funding with lab bench space, executive coaching, mentorship, and an investor showcase. The 2026 cycle opened on March 16 and closed on June 12 at 1 p.m. EST. Eligible founders included women; Arab American, Middle Eastern and North African American; Asian American, Pacific Islander, Native Hawaiian; Black, African American, Afro Caribbean; Hispanic, Hispanic American, Latinx/Latin; Indigenous, Native American, First Nation; LGBTQIA+; people with apparent or non-apparent disabilities; neurodiverse founders; refugees, immigrants, migrants; socially disadvantaged founders; and veterans. The strongest fit is a Massachusetts company led by a CEO or equivalent who can commit to in-person coaching and keep the business in good standing with the state. The program is less a one-off grant than a year of structured operating support for founders who need access, mentorship, and a visible investor-facing finish.
Each grant below is a distinct funding opportunity with its own eligibility, scope, and deliverables.
