Small Business Support Hubs
Offers Small Business Support Hubs, supporting a Michigan Economic Development Corporation program funded through the Michigan Strategic Fund.
Small Business Support Hubs is a Michigan Economic Development Corporation program funded through the Michigan Strategic Fund and administered by MEDC to reach small businesses through hub organizations. It is designed for regional operators that can deliver services, programming, and direct assistance grants to Michigan firms, rather than for individual small businesses applying on their own. The FY2026 call allocated nearly $11.3 million in state-appropriated funds, with $8 million for hub operations, programming, services, and regional coordination and $3.3 million for direct business assistance awards. Awards begin with a one-year term and can extend for up to two additional years if performance and MSF approval support renewal. The application window opened April 1, 2026 and closed June 1, 2026. The program has already served more than 8,800 businesses since 2023, helped create or retain more than 5,000 jobs, and catalyzed more than $158 million in follow-on funding. It is best suited to organizations with regional reach, local business networks, and the administrative capacity to run a hub model that turns state funding into hands-on support for entrepreneurs.
