Military Operational Medicine Research Program (MOMRP)
Funds studies on operational stress, injury prevention, and health readiness for military personnel.
Military Operational Medicine Research Program (MOMRP) sits under the Army Medical Research and Development Command and is designated JPC-5 under the Defense Medical Research and Development Program. It funds work to develop medical countermeasures against operational stressors and to prevent physical and psychological injuries during training and operations, with the goal of improving service member health, performance, and fitness. The program runs through CDMRP and DMRDP channels as well as direct broad agency announcements. Its four portfolio areas are environmental health and protection, injury prevention and reduction, physiological health and performance, and psychological health and resilience, including PTSD, suicide, family separation, and family violence. It is a U.S.-focused defense research route rather than a civilian disease program. Applicants fit best when the research is clearly tied to warfighter readiness, operational conditions, or medical readiness questions that the program can apply in service settings. Because the funding route is channel-specific, teams need to watch the program's notices and BAA releases rather than assume one standing application calendar.
