MRA General RFP
Offers MRA General RFP, supporting annual Melanoma Research Alliance funding for strategic research projects and collaborations.
The MRA General RFP is the Melanoma Research Alliance's annual funding cycle and its main route for investigator-initiated melanoma research. For the 2025-2026 cycle, the alliance set aside at least $11.5 million for pre-clinical, translational, and early clinical work aimed at prevention, detection, diagnosis, and treatment. The cycle accepts Team Science Awards, Young Investigator Awards, Pilot Awards, and an Academic-Industry Partnership add-on for Team Science applications. It also includes dedicated tracks for acral melanoma, uveal melanoma, the United Kingdom, Israel, and an RTFCCR collaboration focused on early detection, diagnosis, and risk stratification. Proposals move through proposalCENTRAL, and the 2025-2026 calendar points to decisions in April or May and project start on June 1. The program is a strong fit for teams with a near-term melanoma question and a clear mechanism for moving it forward. Multi-institutional groups, early-career investigators, and projects with a defined translational step are the most natural matches, especially when the proposal aligns with one of the named tracks rather than a broad melanoma theme.
Each grant below is a distinct funding opportunity with its own eligibility, scope, and deliverables.
Funds high-risk melanoma proof-of-concept efforts through grants for high-impact experimental ideas.
Supports collaborative melanoma science in the United States through consortium-style grants for cross-institution teams.
Supports early-career melanoma researchers through fellowships and grants that launch independent research direction.
