The MRA Next Steps Program is a separate and distinct grant mechanism from the annual General RFP, focused on accelerating development of cellular therapy and vaccine therapy approaches for acral and uveal melanoma. Awards are milestone-based and range from $50,000 to $1,000,000 with study durations of 1 to 3 years. Eligible research spans preclinical studies, pre-IND development, and clinical-stage studies. Proposals on GNAQ/11-related melanomas (a molecular subtype of uveal melanoma) are also eligible. The program targets researchers at academic medical centers and universities in the US and worldwide. One RFP per year is the stated cadence.
