NC BEC ECOSYSTEM
Funds organizations in North Carolina focused on Black entrepreneurship support and access.
NC BEC ECOSYSTEM sits inside NC IDEA's Black Entrepreneurship Council and funds North Carolina organizations that build support for Black entrepreneurs. The programme is aimed at nonprofits, for-profit organisations, HBCUs, and community partners that can deliver mentoring, capital access, networking, and programme infrastructure across the state. The 2026 cycle is now closed. Public material says the council has deployed more than $2 million in less than three years, working with 20 ECOSYSTEM partners, 14 ENGAGE partners, and five accredited HBCUs. The grant size is not published, so the public record is stronger on remit and partner network than on ticket size. That networked delivery model is the real signal for applicants: NC BEC is buying local reach and programme capacity, not a one-off award narrative. Applicants fit best when they serve Black entrepreneurs in North Carolina through a community-facing platform rather than a standalone startup pitch. The programme's value is in its layered structure inside NC BEC and in the delivery network it has assembled across the state.
