AIM-AHEAD Program for Artificial Intelligence Readiness (PAIR)
Funds hospitals and universities to build AI readiness for equitable health and data science research.
PAIR is AIM-AHEAD's flagship North Star IV (community capacity and infrastructure) program. Phase 1 awards up to $100,000 per institution (15 awards in Cohort 1) to establish an AI/ML Health Research Lab, provide grant-writing support for competitive proposals, and connect awardees to AIM-AHEAD experts and networks. Phase 2 provides follow-on funding for the highest-performing Phase 1 awardees. Eligible institutions are those with limited existing AI/ML infrastructure and resources, consistent with AIM-AHEAD's focus on Minority-Serving Institutions, HBCUs, Tribal Colleges, Federally Qualified Health Centers, and other non-R1 institutions. Cohort 1 Phase 1 and Phase 2 are complete; no current open cohort advertised as of scrape date (2026-05-27).
Each grant below is a distinct funding opportunity with its own eligibility, scope, and deliverables.
