NIAAA SBIR/STTR Program
Supports United States small businesses building alcohol-related diagnostics and digital tools through development pathways.
NIAAA participates in the NIH SBIR and STTR programs, funding small businesses to develop technologies addressing alcohol use disorder and related conditions. Priority areas include biosensors and wearables for alcohol detection, digital health and telehealth interventions, pharmacotherapy, diagnostic tools and biomarkers, advanced data analytics, regulatory support tools, and behavioral interventions. NIAAAaccepts Phase IIB SBIR (bridge funding after Phase II) and the Commercialization Readiness Pilot (CRP) program, distinguishing it from many NIH institutes.
