RFA-AI-27-012 establishes Coccidioidomycosis Collaborative Research Centers (CCRCs), a new NIAID initiative funding highly collaborative, multi-disciplinary research teams to conduct translational and clinical research supporting development of a Valley fever vaccine. Valley fever (Coccidioidomycosis) is a fungal infection endemic to the US Southwest. Four awards of up to $1.2M each from a total pool of $4.8M.
