NIDA SBIR/STTR
Supports small businesses developing substance use treatments and drug abuse research innovations.
NIDA's SBIR and STTR programs channel more than $50 million per year to small US businesses developing pharmacotherapeutic products, medical devices, and drug abuse research and treatment innovations. Individual projects can receive up to $3.4 million in total funding across phases, and grantees retain all equity (non-dilutive). The program covers aspiring entrepreneurs, startups, and established small businesses. NIDA staff offer application guidance, portfolio reviews, success stories, target product profiles (TPPs), and pre-submission consultations. Phase-level award caps (Phase I, Phase II) are published in the NIH omnibus SBIR solicitation, which was not extracted at ingest.
Each grant below is a distinct funding opportunity with its own eligibility, scope, and deliverables.
