Supports Small GOED-funded microgrants helping Nevada tech companies prepare competitive federal small business innovation small business technology proposals delivered via UNR.
SAGE (Sierra Accelerator for Growth and Entrepreneurship) assists for-profit, Nevada-based technology businesses through SBIR and STTR federal grant processes. GOED funds SAGE through the Knowledge Fund, with delivery via UNR (SAGE North) and UNLV (SAGE South). Services include proposal writing assistance, agency targeting, and federal grant system navigation. SAGE may issue Phase 0 microgrants for SBIR/STTR proposal preparation, developed and led by StartUpNV. Open to Nevada technology-based small businesses with fewer than 500 employees. Note: SAGE is outreach and proposal assistance — the actual SBIR/STTR grants come from federal agencies (NIH, NSF, DoD, etc.), not from GOED.
