PCF Challenge Awards

Funds interdisciplinary prostate cancer teams through a challenge model linking research disciplines and collaboration.

Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF)United StatesGrant

PCF Challenge Awards sit inside the Prostate Cancer Foundation's research portfolio and fund transformational team science for recurrent or advanced prostate cancer. The foundation has backed more than 2,250 awards since 1993, and the Challenge Awards are one of its flagship routes for large, cross-disciplinary projects. Awards run from $300,000 to $1.5 million a year in direct costs for 3 years, or $900,000 to $4.5 million total. Teams must include at least three experienced investigators with distinct expertise, can come from one or more institutions, and are encouraged to bring in collaborators outside prostate cancer. The 2026 deadline was March 16, 2026, so the current cycle is between rounds. The best fit is a proposal that needs both laboratory and clinical insight and can justify why a mixed team is essential to the problem. PCF is looking for work that can change the trajectory of lethal disease rather than incremental study, which is why the challenge format favors ambitious, clearly coordinated collaborations.
