Mathematical Biology

Funds mathematics with real biological relevance — and asks for innovation on both sides plus genuine integration between them.

National Science FoundationUnited StatesGrant

NSF's Mathematical Biology programme funds research in any area of the mathematical sciences with relevance to biology.

Three things have to be true of a successful proposal, and NSF lists them together: mathematical innovation, biological relevance and significance, and strong integration between the mathematics and the biology. A strong result in one alone is not the brief.
