Invention Incentive Program
Funds Rhode Island small businesses and inventors with support for patent filing costs.
The Invention Incentive Program reimburses Rhode Island small businesses and individual inventors up to $5,000 for patent filing costs with the USPTO. Covered expenses include legal fees from registered RI patent practitioners and USPTO filing fees. The program runs on an annual cycle in the April–May window. Previous award recipients are ineligible to reapply, making this a one-time benefit per entity.
