The Small Business Energy Efficiency Grant Program helps Rhode Island small businesses reduce operating costs through energy efficiency improvements. Following an approved energy audit by a RI Commerce-approved provider, businesses can receive reimbursement for LED lighting, HVAC systems, insulation, thermostats, ventilation upgrades, water-saving devices, refrigeration controls, and electrical panel upgrades. The reimbursement rate is up to 80% for businesses under $2M annual revenue and up to 70% for those with $2M–$5M revenue. The maximum grant is $20,000 for standalone projects, or $10,000 when combined with RI Energy/RISE incentives. Solar panels are excluded.
