Florida Spaceport Improvement Program (SIP)
Funds infrastructure reimbursement for space transportation and aerospace facility projects at Florida spaceports.
The Florida Spaceport Improvement Program (SIP) provides infrastructure reimbursement funding for space transportation and aerospace facility projects at Florida spaceports. Projects are submitted by private companies, must align with Space Florida's legislative intent and spaceport territory master plans, and are prioritized by Space Florida before submission to FDOT's 5-year work program. Historically, the program has invested over $531 million in spaceport infrastructure since 2012, leveraging $3.3 billion in private investment across 48 major projects. Applications are accepted on an annual cycle (January–April window). Approved projects enter the FDOT 5-year work program. Past recipients include SpaceX (Gigabay) and Blue Origin (Lunar Production Facility). FY26 budget request was ~$93 million via FDOT for the FY27–FY31 cycle.
