CDFI Program (Financial Assistance + Technical Assistance)
Funds certified community lenders serving underserved neighborhoods through financial and technical support.
The CDFI Program offers two award types to Certified and Emerging CDFIs. Financial Assistance (FA) awards provide capital in the form of loans, grants, equity investments, deposits, or credit union shares — with a mandatory dollar-for-dollar non-federal match required from the awardee. Technical Assistance (TA) awards fund capacity-building activities for CDFIs building organizational infrastructure. The FY2025 cycle (January–March 2025) ran jointly with the Native Initiatives NACA Program under a combined NOFA. Awardees from recent cycles have collectively financed more than 109,000 businesses, funded 45,000+ affordable housing units, and originated over $24 billion in loans and investments. A supplemental Healthy Food Financing Initiative (HFFI-FA) award is available to qualifying FA applicants expanding healthy-food financing.
Each grant below is a distinct funding opportunity with its own eligibility, scope, and deliverables.
