PCI Ventures (PCIV) is a division of the Penn Center for Innovation focused on creating early-stage businesses founded on Penn technology. Since 2010, PCIV has partnered with over 200 faculty and staff to launch Penn-based companies. Services include UPstart (company formation + Entrepreneur-in-Residence matching), UPadvisors (support for already-formed companies), and Venture WarmUP (pre-commitment exploration of commercialization options including licensing, R&D partnerships, or independent startups). Eligibility is restricted to Penn-affiliated inventors, faculty, and staff. PCIV does not deploy a direct named grant fund; capital is accessed through related Penn investment vehicles (Penn StartUP Fund, PxB Fund). This program is internal-only and is not open to external applicants.
