SEED Research Program
Provides seed research support for University of Wisconsin faculty exploring spinout opportunities.
The State Economic Engagement & Development (SEED) Research Program funds UW–Madison faculty and academic staff who hold ownership in a Wisconsin company and want to conduct commercialization-focused research on campus. Awards come from a shared pool—$550,000 in FY2028 split among 5–11 proposals—making the effective ceiling roughly $50,000–$110,000 per project.
