Roberts Innovation Fund
Provides Roberts Innovation Fund to support yale seas engineering faculty commercialize research.
The Roberts Innovation Fund was established in 2022 with support from Yale alumnus Will Roberts '90. It funds commercialization of research by Yale School of Engineering & Applied Science (SEAS) faculty. Initial awards are up to $150,000 and run on an annual cycle — the most recent deadline was November 15, 2025, with finalists presenting and awards beginning in January. The next cycle is expected to open around November 2026. All applicants receive detailed feedback from the Yale Ventures team. Awardees gain mentorship from Entrepreneurs in Residence, access to Venture Lab workshops, and ongoing support covering customer discovery, financial modeling, and additional research. The program is directed by Claudia Reuter.
